Marilyn Sherman owns a company called UpFront Presentations. She speaks for all sectors of the foodservice industry who want their people to have more courage and lead inspired lives. With over 17 years experience in professional speaking, training, and facilitating, Marilyn delivers entertaining and content-filled programs.
Marilyn started her corporate experience with Chrysler First Financial Services. As an in-house trainer, she was responsible for writing, producing, and presenting training programs to 2400 employees across the United States. Marilyn trained all levels of the corporation from new hires, to senior executives. She specialized in communication classes and building effective teams. When Chrysler First was acquired by NationsBank, Marilyn was an instrumental member of the transition team. She put her many years of experience as a Team Building trainer to help the individuals of both companies quickly meld into one team.
Marilyn now spends her time inspiring people in the foodservice industry. She is the only speaker in the history of the Women’s Foodservice Forum to be asked back to speak at their national conference for six years in a row. She has now taken her motivational books and speeches and converted them to be foodservice specific. She has interviewed top leaders in the industry and continues to inspire foodservice professionals. One of her motivational books is “Why Settle for the Balcony? How to get a Front-Row Seat in Life for Foodservice Professionals”. Here latest book is called “Front Front Row Service; How to increase Tip Percentage and Check Averages for Restaurants.” She is constantly helping people get out of their comfort zones and into a front-row seat in life.
When Marilyn is not speaking or training foodservice professionals, she is a partner at “The Baron of Wine, Inc.” bringing people on Wine Fantasy Experiences to France. She thinks that exposing people to the great French culture of wine, food and friendship in Bordeaux, Burgundy, and Paris is definitely one of her favorite front-row seats in life!
Marilyn is a graduate of Washington State University and a 16-year member of the National Speakers Association and is also a member of the Women’s Foodservice Forum and the Society of Foodservice Management. She lives in Las Vegas with her husband Yves de Boisreon.
